Driving in heavy rain - driving across an intersection, should I turn on -emergency lights-?

Absolutely not! "Emergency lights" Let me reiterate! This is frequently discussed because people still misuse them today ...I believe every modern driver knows "emergency lights" very well. Try to find the switch; it's a red switch with a triangle symbol, or it might have the word Emergencyinstead. If you notice its location, manufacturers choose to place it neither too close nor too far, meaning drivers can use it quickly, but it's not as convenient as the turn signal switch (which ironically, people don't use much when turning...!!!???)
Why?
Because emergency lights are not meant for us to use indiscriminately. The name already states: Emergency Lightliterally translates toemergency light to be used in emergency situations and to inform others, such as when a car is in an accident or broken down and obstructing traffic. The law stipulates that "emergency lights" are to be used only when a vehicle is"broken down" and stationary!
Not “courtesy lights”
When passing an intersection, as many people understand it, and it's not a light to request any selfish privilege, such as parking with emergency lights on in a no-parking zone, regardless of how long the queue of cars behind becomes. It's strange that this wrong practice has become widespread so quickly.
Not for use during rain
This will prevent drivers behind you, as well as other road users, from knowing your intentions, whether... you want to change to the left or right lane, or if you want to stop. This is because the turn signal you activate (flashing on one side) will not work while the emergency lights are on (only both sides will flash simultaneously). More importantly, turning on emergency lights can also cause drivers' eyes to blur due to the refraction of yellow light (a light that is good at detecting objects in the dark) hitting raindrops or waterlogged road surfaces and entering our eyes. And if many cars turn on their emergency lights simultaneously, it becomes difficult to judge distances; vision will blur to the point of dizziness, making it unclear which car will turn which way?
Why? When turning, are people too lazy to use turn signals?
Especially those who turn left, considering themselves not at risk of any danger. But then when going straight, they turn on emergency lights instead. I don't know who they are trying to request passage from? This method is very dangerous. Vehicles approaching from the left will understand that the car with emergency lights on is turning left because only the left side is visible. Meanwhile, vehicles following behind might also assume the car has a turn signal on for one side, if the other light is obscured by another vehicle, which happens very often. Therefore, if you are going straight, do not turn on any lights at all.
Having read this article, we hope many of you now clearly understand the negative consequences of using emergency lights incorrectly and at the wrong time.
